Infinite Content is a 24 hour long sound and video installation exploring how online algorithms shape our digital life. Every day, we experience an ever increasing set of curated content formed around our exact tastes, habits and preferences. The music we listen to, the videos we watch, the items we purchase, and even the friends we add are all subject to digital curation. Our 21st century human experience has become reliant on the crutch of the online suggestion bar.
This installation documents YouTube's endless stream of video suggestions from a randomly selected starting point. The website's algorithm can be seen realising its own personality and tastes through a continuous wave of recommendations. An exploration into the infinite content we now have at our disposal 24/7.
